Without a Backward Glance by Kate Veitch

This is a book about an unhappy, young mother of four who says she’s going out for an errand and then never comes back. Forty years later, after her children are grown and have kids of their own, one of them makes a chance encounter with her and they are forced to live up to everything. I read this book in under a week. It was one that made me want to know what was going to happen next. Although, it’s seems like it’d be a heavy topic, it was a quick & easy pool read for me. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing. Also, it’s set in Australia so some of the slang and mannerisms are kind of fun.
