Dallas and I were out this weekend at Brownstone with Danny, Cousin and Kristin. Danny and Cousin were trying to figure out where something was so I text messaged 466453 (GOOGLE) and a few seconds later it texted me back with the address and phone number. This Google SMS service is always so impressive to people and seems not to be a popular, or maybe just not a well-known, feature so I thought I’d do my duty and share it.
Add 466453 as a contact in your phone and any time your out you can just text it. So, for example, if you were looking for the bar called the Long Room in Chicago type “long room chicago” and you’d get the results to the right. It’s so handy when you’re not nearby the internet :). There are also a ton of other things you can do like find movies or get the weather report or find out airline information, but I mostly just use it for finding businesses.
Here’s more information about Google SMS.
About our night at Brownstone: Guess who drank 12 of the 14 Miller Lites ordered and then drank one more to make it a baker’s dozen of Miller Lites? Also, we already know this, but $3.75 for a Miller Lite is a racket! You can buy a 12-pack for about $10 and here we paid $52 for 14 of them. I guess you’re also paying for the ambiance and the company and the waitress service and the option of having food prepared for you, though.

I love google sms. I used it all the time before I got my iPhone. And now that I’ve (*sniff*) lost my iPhone, it’s my savior.

So what was everyone drinking when you were pounding down Miller lItes? Lets see… 4 other people… 6 Fat Tires… 5 Brooklin Lagers… 2 Harps… 1 Smithwicks… 1 Stella Artois. A better question might by why are you drinking a crappy beer when you have Fat Tire available? That’s probably one of my favorite beers, too bad they don’t distribute to Wisconsin.

I didn’t drink the Miller Lites!! I had two of the Casual Friday drinks, which weren’t very good. They had pineapple juice and supposedly there was some rum in there, but I couldn’t taste it.
I didn’t know that you can’t get Fat Tire in WI. You’ll have to get some here next time you’re down. They have other New Belgium beers here too. Last time I was coming home from WI I stopped to get some New Glarus!

Oh, I also had one of the orders of fish tacos. I really just went there to eat dinner. Everyone else was there hours before me. I had to ride my bike home from work that day and then take a shower and all that… apparently they were pounding during that time!
