Chef’s Chicken - Chicken breast with artichoke hearts, onions and cream sauce :: Andalous Moroccan Restaurant, Wrigleyville, Chicago

The Famous Couscous - Bed of Moroccan pasta topped with tender braised lamb and an array of garden vegetable blend :: Andalous Moroccan Restaurant, Wrigleyville, Chicago
A couple months ago Dallas and I were at Chicago Comics on Clark, north of Belmont, and decided it was time for dinner. We walked up the street and came across Andalous Moroccan Restaurant. I’d heard of it, but had never been there and neither of us had ever had Moroccan cuisine, so we decided to try it. We ended up both really liking it and wanting to go back, which we haven’t gotten to yet, but just give us an excuse and we’ll be there.
In addition to the two dishes above, we an appetizer - Zaalouk (photo here), which was fresh eggplant grilled and mashed with tomatoes, cilantro, garlic and fine Moroccan spices. I remember not being sure if I’d like it when we ordered it, but then we ate it in like 5 seconds. It was so savory and delicious and I don’t even know how to describe the spices in it. I was wondering if it would be weird to order another one! So good.
As you can see above, the portions at Andalous are pretty generous and the prices are pretty good, too. An entree runs about $11 - $13 and the appetizers are about $5 - $8.
