My parents sent me a link to this video of Annette Summersett, a Yooper singer/songwriter’s, farewell tribute to Brett Favre.

I have never understood why Favre was such a big deal. He’s an old QB who couldn’t let go of the game. Favre’s retirement doesn’t signify the death of football, but rather the chance to finally watch a game without having to hear about Favre being lauded as the greatest thing in all of existence since the Big Bang itself.

    I say good riddance!

My ears are closed to the “why is Favre such a big deal” argument. I grew up not far from Green Bay, so you can’t convince me he’s not a big deal. However, a agree that football didn’t die the day he retired. I just thought this was a funny parody. And I know it’s how some people feel. It’s the end of an era, for sure. Brett Favre was our quarterback for half my life! But I am glad he left on a high note.
