On Saturday afternoon I went to a few more panels - 10 Things We’ve Learned at 37Signals presented by fellow Chicagoan Jason Fried and Behind the Scenes at the Onion News Network.
That night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. was Google’s SXSW party. On Sched we saw that more than 650 people said they were going to attend and internally we knew that Light Bar would only fit about 300. This resulted in a line all the way down the block and around the corner for about two more blocks. Luckily, we just had to show our Google employee badges and we could get right in. That’s how we roll.
The downstairs of Light Bar was like a club with club music and a fake waterfall and all that cheesiness, but up top was an open rooftop bar, which was really nice. That’s where we hung out the most. All of the drinks were free and I drank Shiner Bock until it was all out and then drank a bunch of Lone Star beer. It was a good time. I admit I had major spring fever in Austin and was just enjoying the weather, being outside and probably drinking far more beer than I should. Oh well!

Love the pic of Shiner and Lone Star. Being from Austin, TX and now living in Manhattan I’m jealous that you got to attend SXSW and drink Shiner all night. Finally found it up north and I’m a happier camper. All I need now is an Alamo Draft House. Cheers.

That Shiner and Lone Star picture is print-worthy. Someone should design an ad around it.
