Update: If anyone knows anything about WordPress…. I think I have everything working now, thanks to the help of John and Matt, but one thing that is still not working is image upload. When I try to upload an image through WordPress it gives me a url like

http://www.rachelleb.com//../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../tmp/chicagoconflictingweather.jpg

and doesn’t actually upload the image. Anyone have any ideas? I guess for now I’ll ftp images, but I’d like to get this one last thing fixed!

Contrary to popular belief, I haven’t been purposefully making you drool day after day with my meat photos. What happened was a week ago some people noticed that I had some spam in my feed. I looked on my site and the spam was actually inside a post of mine. I wasn’t sure what had happened, but I should have investigated more. A few days later a few pages were missing (notice there’s no About or Photography now), my sidebar was reverted, and there was no spam. My backend admin where I edit and create posts was not working at all. Oh, and there was more spam. In posts. Add that to the fact that my host’s server went down at the exact same time and I didn’t know wtf was going on. I spent some time this morning upgrading WordPress and then tracking down some more errors after that. My theme I had still isn’t working, but maybe this site need a new look anyway. I’m just glad things seem to be functional now and that 99.9% of my data is intact and that things seem to be working now. Let me know if you experience anything odd, aside from the theme not being right and styling issues, like cutting off photos and what not. I still need to fix how the site is displaying, but if you see any functional or data errors let me know..

If you install Image Browser in Word Press you’ll have an easy way to load images, see them and their true link sizes and organize everything.

I just fixed this uploading issue.. just stumbled upon the fix.. . In WordPress in the very descriptive “Miscellaneous” section the only options available are uploading options.. I don’t know why they don’t just call the tab “Uploads,” but it was there that I fixed the uploading problem. Thanks to everyone who has had suggestions!
