what. did. you. think? i read this book ages ago and have re-read it about two times since. it’s horrifying and amazing and freaky and i can’t believe no one has tried to eff it up and make it into a movie.
I read this book forever, like 10 years about and I remember not liking it.. but that’s all I remembered. .. then within the past year or two I kept hearing how great it was so I picked it up early last year. I had it in Hawaii with me but didn’t get into it. Finally I read it over the past few weeks and really enjoyed and appreciated it.
Yeah, I love the Secret History, and really think Pessl was trying to accomplish what Tartt did, somewhat successfully. But man, Secret History was so good at building suspense and just being so creepy…and at showing how creepy, mean and manipulative kids can be. Darn kids.
