While in Las Vegas we stayed at the Four Queens downtown at the Fremont Experience. Our hotel was at an intersection where each corner had a hotel. On the other corners were Binion’s, Golden Nugget, and Fremont.

The last time I was in Las Vegas was about 9 years ago when I went on a trip with Kelly that included Phoenix, camping at the Grand Canyon, several days on the beach in San Diego and finally Las Vegas. While we were in Las Vegas we stayed at the Golden Nugget, so I was sort of familiar with the area. Although, it was so long ago, I didn’t remember too much.

Our hotel room at the Four Queens was right above the roof of the Fremont Experience, which we thought would make it bright and loud, but we weren’t really in our room for any of the show times anyway. We did all the typical stuff: stayed up late, drank free drinks, ate a lot, ate late night, lost some money, won some money. One interesting thing is that the downtown area is where a lot of people from Hawaii stay. In the California Hotel & Casino they have at least two Hawaiian local grinds restaurants and their slot machines have “Shaka” and “Dakine” in the names. This site says that 70% of the people who stay at the California are from Hawaii.

Nice shots of the Fremont St hotels. :) One of my biggest peeves about trying to photograph them is all the powerlines and speakers strung up everywhere. You got some really good shots.
