A few months ago I walked past Phillips Butter Kist Bakery on Belmont & Damen it seemed closed up. Someone told me recently that The Bleeding Heart Bakery (you know, the punk rock, vegan, organic, fair-trade bakery on Chicago) is opening another location there. I hope they keep the Butter Kist sign. I love it!
Update: Actually Centerstage says that The Bleeding Heart is closing the old location and moving to Belmont/Damen.

I got an email from Bill, a reader and friend of rachelleb, that said that he talked to Michelle @ Bleeding Heart and she said From Michelle
“Yes, we are keeping the sign, but fixing it and changing Phillips and butter kist since we are neither. We are still renovating and will be moving in in october.”
