Bloomscape
Free Mint in Lakeview, Chicago

A couple months ago Margaret and I were walking up Clark and these guys were giving away free mint plants to promote Bloomscape. I was interested in taking one but not interested in carrying it around all day, so I passed.

Senator Dick Durbin @ Google Chicago

Senator Dick Durbin
Senator Dick Durbin, River North, Chicago

This morning Senator Dick Durbin spoke at our office. We were thinking of things to ask him before hand. Dallas Has a Bike Now Too

Dallas’ Bike

Last weekend I got a bike and this weekend Dallas did. We’d both been talking about getting a bike for so long that I think that my actually getting one was the little extra shove he needed.

This morning we met up with Danny and Lori for brunch at Sola (saw Top Chef contestant Dale Levitski working there). Afterwards we went to look at some bikes at On The Route, the same place I went for my bike. The difference is that I was there for about the whole day riding bikes and hemming and hawing about what I wanted and Dallas went in, looked around for about 10 minutes, rode a bike and bought it.

I’ve been back to On The Route two more times to get a helmet, a chain to use with my U-lock and a basket for the front. Today I did a test ride downtown to the office so I could see the route before tomorrow morning. I really like the thought of biking to work because it’s just as fast as taking the train or the bus and it also allows me to fit my workout in without adding more time to my day.
