My Fortune From Hunan Home’s
On Tuesday night Matt, John, Jeff & I met up with Doug and went to Hunan Home’s, a really great no-frills Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. The food was all delicious (I especially liked the soup dumplings and the beans with pork) and the waiters were really funny. Doug lived in Hong Kong for a while so he joked with them a lot. There was this older man with huge teeth who was having a good time funning on us. Actually, all the waiters were. I remember one giving Matt a hard time when it came time to pay. And another one looking shocked when we ordered 5 of the large sized Tsing Tao. Turns out we drank about 8 of them, so I guess we showed him.
After dinner we had one beer at a bar in Chinatown called Buddha Lounge. And then for some reason we thought it was a great idea to go to the ultra-hip and swanky Redwood Room at the Clift Hotel. I felt a little out of place in my jeans and tshirt but had a great time people watching and enjoying fancy drinks.
