La Guardia, New York

Last night everything at La Guardia airport was screwed up and flights were either massively delayed or cancelled all together. It was all were caused by an FAA ‘computer glitch’. To make it worse, my cell phone busted and I couldn’t call anyone. So, I tried to get on wireless with my laptop and it wouldn’t work in my terminal so I had to go out into the food court area outside of my terminal to let everyone know what was going on. Then when I went back to go to my terminal they wouldn’t let me in and said that all Chicago flights were canceled. I met up with Jeff and John, whose flights were also cancelled, and we headed back to the city. Jeff is flying out this morning but John and I just resigned ourselves to staying the weekend. We were both supposed to be flying back to New York on Sunday anyway, no sense going through the hassle of flying back for just one day, especially since Dallas is in Denver on business for 10 days right now anyway.

So, I guess that means I need to go shopping for some clothes today, huh? And a new phone? I just sent out my jeans for laundry service and am going to try to pick up some shirts, so hopefully I’ll be ok for the week. One thing I kind of do regret missing is that volunteer day I was going to participate in. I don’t know if I would have been too tired anyway, but it’s such a good thing in Chicago.
