2007_01_threedegrees.jpgI can’t even imagine how cold it feels working outside! The top photo was taken last week and the bottom one was taken this morning. I didn’t even want to go outside this morning to take it, so it’s through the window. This is the condo that was just started around mid-December. They already dug the hole and have one floor done.

Update: 7:10 p.m.

Just got home tonight and they’re still out there working. I hope they’re getting paid a lot!

  1. Unlikely union. Developers typically want these cheaply built condos to go up as quickly as possible regardless of the weather. There are issues with the quality of construction when it’s this cold and the impact of cold weather on materials, such as concrete and mortar for bricks. Concrete and mortar have a water component that will freeze before it actually cures when it is below freezing, which many of these smaller outfits disregard. The developer’s limited liability corporation will long be dissolved when the new condo owner’s are dealing with these issues. OK, off of my soapbox now.
