2007_01_threedegrees.jpgI can’t even imagine how cold it feels working outside! The top photo was taken last week and the bottom one was taken this morning. I didn’t even want to go outside this morning to take it, so it’s through the window. This is the condo that was just started around mid-December. They already dug the hole and have one floor done.

Update: 7:10 p.m.

Just got home tonight and they’re still out there working. I hope they’re getting paid a lot!

What to Read in Kauai?

The only thing that’s been keeping me going through these cold, snowy days is thoughts of our Hawaiian vacation, which is less than a month away now. I even downloaded tropical photos I took on past vacations onto my new Nano (got it when Jeannette and Jessica were in town) so I can call them up on the cold walk to work.

Anybody want to recommend some good beach/long flight reading? Doesn’t have to be trashy, throw-away, vacation-y, girly novels. Just something good. I need a few new books.

The stars of the party were 2 ice sculptures that were a few feet tall and shaped like frogs. They were used to serve appletinis, which were then served to people in glowing glasses. Read more at Chicagoist and see more photos here. Or, check out my post on TECH Cocktail 2.

Photojojo is not only is a great place to get photography tips and DIY photo projects, but they also have a small store. I bought these magnetic photo ropes there to dress up my space in the office. I had a bunch of photos taped to the wall and they were all peeling off so this was a good solution. Like a moron, I paid via Paypal and didn’t confirm my account address. Turns out my shipment was being sent to the apartment in New York where I lived almost 3 years ago. I emailed Photojojo and Amit was totally cool and resent me the ropes to my Chicago address. It probably helps that he’s a Chicagoist and FeedBurner fan. Thanks Photojojo!
