Smallest Book

I’m a sucker for the Amazon message that says “hey if you just spend a few more bucks then you’ll qualify for free shipping!” Why not get something for myself, I always think. So, when I was ordering Dallas’ birthday gift, I threw in a cheap, $5 book called Eight Million Stories in a New York Minute that’s been on my wishlist forever. It came today. It’s tiny!! Like 3″ x 2″. This is the box it came in with a pen I put beside it for reference. Even though the pages are so small, each story is only one page long or less. Also, the book looks like it was DIY published. Oh well, it got good reviews online so I’ll give it a whirl.

  1. Yeah, that’s a common problem we have @ amazon.com. I’m guessing the bottom of the box says its a BM1? If so, that’s pretty much the smallest box that we ship that’s not a CD or DVD. (I do work at the Lexington KY amazon.com center)

The DIY is actually a new thing called Make-on-demand where we can keep a larger library of print and media titles, especially small publisher or indie label items, and reduce our storage costs by printing or burning a copy as it is ordered. Just started doing it within the last 6 months or so.
