Bike Grill, Wicker Park, Chicago
While walking home from Tankboy’s birthday/Chicagoist happy hour, I saw this bike parked outside of Gold Star. It’s kind of hard to see, but there is a big, barrel grill attached to the front of it.

Do you know of this person actually rides around with the grill burning or is this just a means of moving it from place to place? Just curious.

Popeye — The Grill Bike is a bona fide grilling-while-riding machine. Its owner rode it during the October (I think) Chicago critical mass, and there were flames shooting out the side! Quite a sight!

That’s awesome. I hope to see it.

On RAGBRAI (bike ride across Iowa) there’s a team called Team Badboy and like the grill bike -each rider has a different bike that has some sort of contraption. One has a grill/stove, one has a sink, one has a bar, and it goes on and on. They come together and host great parties along the ride. They are a wild crew but fun to see!

I’m trying to get a sense of how this is steered. Is that a one handed handlebar?
