Monday night it was nice out. I didn’t really want to just go home. Dallas is stuck in Toronto for work for the second week in a row, it’s pretty much day to day whether the things that need to get done, get done and whether he has to stay longer or can come back. I realized as I was leaving work, breathing in the fresh air, that my office in the West Loop is only 2 miles from where I live in East Ukrainian Village, so I walked. These are the photos from my walk home.
Great results. And a great idea. I might have to try walking home sometime.
Silly question. What kind of flower is that?
Love the Marlboro sign. Where is it? I am always fascinated by old painted wall signs, especially ones that are nearly hidden due to newer buildings blocking them.

Stephen-
That’s an Asiatic Lily.
Rachelle-that jogged me down memory lane a bit. I used to live in East Ukrainian Village and walked home all the time from the loop…so pleasant. That would be even easier now as I work at Fulton/Jefferson, but I moved to Berwyn last year so not so much…doh! Enjoy your walks!
Beautiful shots. Todd and I love to take several-mile-long walks when we’re in the city, when the temperature is favorable. It’s too hot and humid to do the same in Honolulu!
Great shots! What setting do you use on your camera to get the sky so perfectly colored?
The Marlboro sign is on the corner of Grand/Milwaukee/Halsted — the southest corner.
