French Toast @ Parlor, Wicker Park, Chicago

This morning my brother and I had brunch at Parlor. I’d try to go previously.. Dallas took me out for a congratulatory dinner the night I started my job at FeedBurner and we went to Parlor but it was closed. I just noticed on Metromix it says they’re not open on Mondays. So, instead we went to Las Palmas, which was good, but I really wanted to try Parlor. I’m kind of glad that when I finally went it was for brunch because what kept sticking in my mind was that I’d read somewhere that they made their own bacon. We found out today that it’s both true and yummy.

It’s hard to tell from the outside what Parlor looks like inside. When we first walked in I was afraid we were underdressed. It’s nice inside, but everyone was pretty casual. Cool. And the food was really great. I want to go back for brunch again.. and for dinner too! Also, Parlor was in this month’s Chicago Magazine where they feature Chicago’s best new restaurants. There’s a photograph of this hugeass smores dessert. Two girls next to us got it and it looked crazy-insane. I have to go back and try that some time!
