Justin & Rachelle’s Shoes :: Lucky Strike, Streeterville, Chicago
To be fair, our game turned off in the 9th frame and I was totally going to make it up in the 10th! ha.
Last night I went bowling at Lucky Strike with some bloggers from Chicagoist, Gapers Block and Coudal. Chicagoist, as a whole, didn’t do so great, but we still had fun.
Lucky Strike is the fanciest bowling alley ever. It smells nice, the shoes are nice and they all match (each other and all the pairs are the same style), there’s no beer or cigarette smell, there are leather couches instead of plastic or vinyl chairs, the music is good, there are no intimidating league dorks hanging around, they have every beer or drink you could imagine, thier space is huge and includes good food and pool tables and a lounge and a bar, the freaking restrooms have attendents! I don’t know. It was nice, but it just didn’t feel like real bowling.
See Chicagoist’s photos and Gapers Block’s photos.
Rachelle,
That is one PLUSH-looking bowling alley! Also, I have been reading your blog for several months and I really enjoy it. Keep up the good work!

I so would have fit in with Chic.com but I’m sure I’d of hit that brick wall too! OUCH!
66 is great! Isn’t par 72?
When do you work?
i only hope huff didn’t exceed your score! the shame would be unbearable.
I think a 66 is the lowest score ever posted by a full grown adult.
not true. if you look at the flickr photos you’ll see that kevin only got a 29!
jake, huff scored somewhere between double and three times my score.
Novel concept the decor at this bowling alley but I’m not suprised you didnt have to suffer the company of “league dorks”, not at a place like Lucky Strike!
Am I still a “league dork” if my bowling isn’t exactly intimidating? (I average about a 120)
