Today is my mom’s 50th birthday. Over the weekend we celebrated with dinner, cake, presents, and brunch. If you ever wondered what a birthday cake with 50 candles on it looks like, wonder no more. It looks like a ball of fire. The gift that topped all gifts was a family ring from my dad with my parents’ and my brother and my birthstones.

I actually took that photo with my parents’ Canon Elph. I think it was just on an auto setting with the flash turned off. Nothing fancy.
