Shampoozled, Wicker Park, Chicago
Usually when there’s guerrilla marketing like this, you look it up online and can see who the ad if for. In this case, I can’t figure out from the Shampoozled site who painted these ads around Wicker Park. It’s for a “leading brand of shampoo”.
I’ve seen some Dove ads lately, that look nothing like Shampoozled, that lead me to believe these ads are for Dove shampoo. They go on about how Dove leaves the oil in your hair. .. which kind of grosses me out. Like, why do they have to say “oil” and why can’t they just say it leaves “moisture” in your hair or something? Gross.

that annoys me too, I walk past it everyday and I know it is an ad, but for what? I need to know what company I should be hating

The website is operated by Unilever, so assume one of their brands will be invovled, from the privacy statement it looks like you’re right about it being Dove (owned by Unilever and the URL contains a reference to dovespa.com)

I saw this on a menu-drink-specials board inside the Shoes Pub on Armitage also. Weird.

The same mural is on a wall on 3rd Street in the East Village of NYC.
I feel so used.

There’s one in the West Loop on Madison and Racine too. Wasn’t Shampoozled a Spike Lee joint?
