I Heart Edmars, Wicker Park, Chicago
I believe this is in response to an old supermarket in Ukrainian Village, Edmars, being replaced with a new Dominick’s. It hasn’t been done yet, but will soon. Back in September 2004, I took a photo of a flyer protesting this. I wonder when it’s going down. I hear people say they don’t want the big bad chain supermarket Dominick’s then turn around and say that Edmars stinks and it will be nice to have the Dominick’s.

On another subject I liked what one guy said on MSNBC last night. Words to the effect, “For all the Southsiders out there living in a Northside world ‘Go White Sox’!”. That sounds like your humble poster ChrisM so I’m rooting for the Sox -Win or Die Trying!!!!!
I found this tonight looking for news on the new Dominick’s and am convinced that all of those people who are expressing their love for Edmars have not spent the last several years having to shop there as I have. I generally don’t like the whole chain thing, but living in Ukrainian village with no car, I would welcome a Dominick’s because I’m quite sick of having to take a taxi or public transportation to a grocery store that has fresh produce and sells cheese that isn’t processed. I know I have other options now in the neighborhood, but they are pretty expensive and a bit out of my price range.
Anyone know the timeframe for construction of the Dominick’s?!??!
