Navigating the Blogosphere @ Chicago Title Tower, The Loop, Chicago
This morning’s talk at Business Wire had me engulfed in a huge bundle of nervous energy, but I think that I didn’t do to bad of a job in the end. I think it was apparent that I am usually the wizard behind the curtain.. eh, website.. making things happen and not really getting out in front of people and talking about it. .. but I don’t think the audience held it against me. ha.
This panel was a bit more formal than the one I participated in on Monday. There was a moderator and a podium and everything. heh. I can confidently say that my Pumas were the only sneakers in a room full of suits. Along with Chicagoist, Chris Thilk was there representing AdJab and Brad Spirrison was there to talk about ePrairie. I also got to meet Rick Klau from Feedburner, who has recently been working with Jake to set up some stuff for the IST network. Overall, it was a good experience, I hope we answered some people’s questions and gave them ideas, and I hope we gain a few new readers, or even advertisers. I’m sure as I get called on to do these panels they’ll just get easier and better for me.
Update: Here’s a press release on the panel that Business Wire released.

I bet your presentation was the best!
Haven’t been here in a long while but glad to visit again. Good luck with your Chicago winter.

For the record, I was wearing Doc Martens.
Great meeting you, Rachelle - and enjoyed the presentation. Looking forward to staying in touch and working together - keep up the great work at Chicagoist.
