Angels Barn Angels, Ukrainian Village, Chicago

This weekend I met up with Roland for a laptop playdate at Atomix. I’d never been there before but it was a pretty cool place.. good lattes. On the walk there and the walk back I saw a few strange things.

On the way there, just off Damen Ave., parked in front of Lava Lounge, I saw this van with a “Se Vende” sign on it. Translated, it’s “For Sale,” and since there’s a large Spanish-speaking population in the neighborhood, it’s not that weird. What I found was strange was the writing on the van above the sign: “Honk if you support Swiss art.” What the? And in combination with the Spanish sign. Bizzare.

On the walk back home, I saw this strange Angels Barn Angels thing that was on the corner of Augusta & Wolcott (i think). It’s a caged angel? I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean.
