On Wednesday night my flight was delayed by like 2 or 2 1/2 hours so we didn’t really do anything.. sat at Jess’s house and caught up and talked til the wee hours. The next morning I got up and went to work with her just to say “hi” to some of my coworkers and to meet some new ones who started in the New York office since I transferred to the Chicago one.

After that I headed down to Chinatown, which is not far from the Tribeca office, to get myself some high-quality Gucci and Prada. I also got a few pieces of pottery and dishes at Great Wall City, which is in the old Pearl River building and is exactly the same as the old Pearl River except that I think the prices are a little more expensive.

I can sympathize with your post title - the smell of dead animals on a really hot summer day is AWFUL! TERRIBLE! and just plain foul.

there was a place I used to walk by on my way to the T (lechmere in Cambridge) every morning called - “Live Poultry Fresh Killed”. It’s sort of built up a cult status now that they’re selling T-shirts with the store’s sign and logo.

actually, the crabs in the front are still alive and the guy with the thongs had to keep throwing them back in the bucket when they climbed out.

American Blue Crab affecianodos believe male crabs (aka Jimmies) taste better than females. To be honest the difference in taste could be imagined, as far as I’m concerned. I dont think Asians believe in this distinction, and I think that is why one usually finds mostly female crabs for sale in Chinatown. Anyway once I told a friend in front of a shop just like the one pictured here, “Oh these are females, they are not as good”. An Asian woman working there heard what I said and I swear, she gave me The Evil Eye!
