Driving back to Chicago from Peoria I noticed a couple tractors on the side access road next to Hwy 55 .. then a couple more.. and before you knew it there was a full-on tractor parade. I don’t know if it was an official parade, but there were at least 100 tractors in a row driving down the road. Some kind of central Illinois farmland phenomenon?

Sorry about the poor quality of these photos but they were taken through the car window as Dallas high-tailled it out of P-town at about 80 miles/hour.

Are those all antique tractors? The John Deere in the third picture looks like one my grandfather had and that I used to drive.

There is some show that “tours” the midwest and attracts antique tractors from all over. They recently did some many-mile trek and paraded through a few towns southwest of Chicago. I can’t remember the whole thing. They were features in the Q section of the weekend Trib a couple of months ago.

I was searching the internet for pictures to use on my xanga site, and I stumbled across your website. I love it. You have a lot of very interesting (and somewhat random) photos.
