Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza Construction, River North, Chicago
Across the river from the Trump construction site there’s a much smaller, less sexy construction site. Here they’re building a new Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza. I can’t find much about it online except this memo that says it will open on November 11, 2005.

It will look great tomorrow when it is dedicated. I hope you can take pictures then. Come early and listen to the names read it will have more meaning. Either way it now becomes part of the achitecture of our fabulous city. You cannot live in Chicago and not be a student of architecture. - A Vietnam Veteran
