Tazo Green Tea Frappuccino, Michigan Avenue, Chicago
Starbucks is promoting the hell out of this new Tazo Green Tea Frappuccino they have. I saw it first when we were in Hawaii, and now this morning they were handing them out for free on the street. I grabbed one to try. Verdict: Not good. But then I don’t really like tea anyway.

It’s very unusual that you would see a “mainland product” in Hawai`i first. We’re usually the at the caboose of the retail roll-outs, if you know what I mean!

I had one of these in the airport last week. It was good but tasted nothing like green tea. It was more like a green milkshake. What do they add to get that bright green color? Its just not natural!

It the wonderful Tazo® Green Tea Frappuccino has been discontinued. It was wonderful in it’s refreshingly un-coffeeness. I am torn in all things today as I have been told that my occasional indulgence is no more. I am outraged and saddened by this revelation. I morn today for its green cool succor at the end of this a long and tiring day.

It’s now called the “Blackberry Green Tea Frappuccino” It’s served with whip cream on top drizzled with blackberry juice. I’m telling you I’m addicted!! It’s the best tasting drink there is. Summer or winter.

Those are BAD ASS. The green tea frapps. were the best when they made them with blackberry and melon syrup. YUM!

In Mexico, these totally suck. They don’t carry the melon syrup in Starbucks that makes the green tea frappuccino so darned tasty. It’s just a matcha powder frappuccino and it’s not even sweet. It’s really disgusting. I’ve asked both customer service Starbucks in the US and the local (Guadalajara) folks, and none of them can tell me why they don’t have the melon syrup here in Mexico. They can’t tell me if they ever will.

I’ve lived in Japan during my childhood and have relatives there. I pretty much know what hot green tea or macha is suppose to taste like. This new Tazo Green tea Frappuccio tastes very nasty to me. It needs to be altered to give this macha tea drink it’s great tastes. Melon does not match with green tea for one. It’s gross. So, I ask for.. Tazo Green tea Frap.. no melon sryup!!.. add classic syrup ( a plain tasting sweetner ) or vanilla syrup. I only ask for one squirt as I love my green tea very strong, slightly bitter and hardly no sugar or sweetner. You can always cut alot of calories by asking for sugar free syrup ( I ask for this once in a great while sence I heard sugar free is not really good for you ) Make sure you say.. no whip cream as this adds a few hundred calories!! It tastes just as good without it. Just trying to be helpful from someone that loves green tea and macha..( macha is a powered form of green tea that was originally used in tea ceremonies and still is ).
