A while ago, Dallas’ friend Steve, who lives in Chicago but grew up in Hawaii, gave us some frozen chili from Zippy’s, a chain of fast food restaurants in Hawaii that serves local food. I liked it so much that Dallas made sure that Zippy’s was our first stop after arriving in Honolulu. Well, actually, our first stop after a nightmare experience at Alamo. It took us close to 2 hours to get a car! By then it was like 4 in the afternoon and we hadn’t eaten anything all day and were in desperate need to find an ATM to get cash to buy lunch. So by the time I sat down at Zippy’s and ate it tasted extra good!

Even though Zippy’s was a definate place we wanted to go and eat, we tried not to stuff ourselves because in a few hours we had to puck up Kathy & Caroline at the airport and go out for dinner at a Korean BBQ, another thing I was really interested in trying out. So we checked into our hotel, the Aston Waikiki Beach, and rested for a while. I took a lot of photos of the view. Then we went to the airport and then out for dinner.

One funny thing - when Kathy & Caroline checked into their room they accidentally locked themselves out on their balcony. Luckily our room was the next one over. Dallas had to go in and call the front desk for them to let them in their room!

Ahh…now that’s what I’m talking about. I will have a Zippy’s someday. Oh yes. It will be mine.
