Paul Revere Masonic Temple, Sheridan Park, Chicago
How much do you think this huge house with this huge lot on the corner of Wilson & Ashland is going for? I tried to look up the history online but didn’t find much. I did discover that it’s a landmark. .. and that Zoned R3 must mean residential. From the Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois –
Ravenswood Club Building
(Paul Revere Masonic Temple)
1521 West Wilson AvenueDesignated a preliminary Chicago landmark on October 7, 2004, the building is for sale by the Masonic chapter which has occupied it since 1920. It was built in 1899 (it also has a 1902 addition) as a family social and civic club. Today, it is one of the oldest surviving club buildings in the city. Zoning would permit residential re-use. I’m guessing this gridwork is to rebuild the road that was torn down? Wabash? It looks kind of like the grid they ripped down.
Also, in the past we’ve seen that the construction crew are Illini fans.. now we see they like the Sox.
Finally, a lot of these guys walk around on the grid with NO safety harnesses! I’d have been dead a long time ago. Doesn’t it seem like this is against some rule or something?
