I’m guessing this gridwork is to rebuild the road that was torn down? Wabash? It looks kind of like the grid they ripped down.

Also, in the past we’ve seen that the construction crew are Illini fans.. now we see they like the Sox.

Finally, a lot of these guys walk around on the grid with NO safety harnesses! I’d have been dead a long time ago. Doesn’t it seem like this is against some rule or something?

  1. With the harness issue, the “connectors” most likely can’t attach their harness up to anything since they are the ones putting the new steel in place. I used to work in construction safety, it was always a challenge to get the iron workers to attach their harness to something solid. Most of the iron workers said it restricted their movement. But yes, they should be tied up as much as possible. In reality though, it does not happen.

  2. you should report their asses to osha. trump will get a nice fine.

also, it’s baseball season now! maybe when football season comes, they will be bears fans.

  3. I’ve noticed how long your hair is getting and it’s also close to time for your “annual” haircut? Have you started making any plans yet? My personal favorite look you’ve post was the one with layers, I would love to see a pic from when you thought it was TOO short.

  4. Iam in construction also an i wouldnt post any pictures at all of workers not in the right tie off system.Because they all could get fired,an that doesnt help anybody.I think its great that Trump is pumping in fresh money into down town. oyeh you have great photos andrew1

  5. Great photos, Rachelle, especially the top one where the guy is watching you take his picture – with the hoses – good composition and color, and the last one with the machine – it looks like the machine is wearing a little round hat.
I can’t comment on the harness issue. I guess if you were a prudent kind of guy you wouldn’t be a steel worker.
Saturday was the Coney Island Mermaid Parade in NYC.
