Cow on Michigan Avenue, Chicago
A leftover from the 1999 Cows on Parade exhibit is located outside the Chicago Cultural Center on Michigan and Randolph. It reminds me of a kinder, gentler version of the Wall Street Bull in NYC. Also, I now have the song “Bulls on Parade” by Rage Against the Machine in my head, except modified to “They rally round tha family! With a pocket full of shells. Cows on parade.”

Yeah, i know the whole cow thing was pretty cheesy, but I liked the idea. There were some really creative cows. My favorite was on Clark just north of Wacker. It was lying in hay and had a flickering tv in its side. At 4am, with the loop deserted, the tv was pretty hypnotic. Remined me of that Bruce Springstein video.

Oh, and theres another one on Michigan and 18th street. The McHugh construction cow. I am sure if we really tried, we could find most of them.
