And all the things that would make it pretty much perfect to me are in the A95 which is really close to the G6 in function and ability. It's got a swivel screen, 5 mp, and full manual control. You can get lenses for it, but it doesn't have a hot-shoe. It's smaller, takes AA batteries which is way cooler than a power pack, and it's a good chunk less $$ than the G6. I think of the G6 as the camera I'd buy if I got back into seriously taking pictures and wanted to do away with my EOS 630 slr. Personally, I think the G6 is perfect except it's just too big for me. I know I wouldn't put it in my pocket when I walk out the door like I do with my A70. 2 cents for ya. I have the A70 and love it. The benefits of it, as I see it, are that it has a ton of controls that I can learn how to use, yet has auto modes so in the beginning I don't have to. I don't have to jump into the SLR world right now, but the G6 also is expandable so that if I want to I can add on lenses and things in the future. So just trying to decide if size will be an issue. It's 3x3x4 inches.
