amen amen on rachelle's sentiments. I used to walk 15 minutes to the closest T stop from my first place in Cambridge (MA) and wait outside for the train to come. Nowadays I'm blessed that my walk is only about 7 minutes and the train platform is about a half mile underground. I loves me some Porter Sq!

California dude - check back here next summer and make sure to let us know if all or part of your town went up in the latest widespread fire

Brandon-I'm probably telling you something you know, but just in case-when you work in downtown Chicago, it costs about $20 a day to park downtown (not to mention car payments, insurance, etc.) It's not really an option for getting to work for the majority of people. The El is a good method, but those platforms are murder this time of year. As someone who lives by the Damen stop but makes her husband drive her to the subway at Division, I can attest that it's much better to be in the subway!

I agree. VERY BURR CHILLY! It was blizzarding and I had to bundle up the babe for daycare today. She's gotta be thinking - why did my adoptive parents have to come from WISCONSIN!?

I dunno, but it's 70F and sunny here in California. Just got back from a jog out by the ocean wearing shorts and a t-shirt. I think I'll turn the air-conditioning on, because it's getting a little warm in my apartment.

I'm from Raleigh, NC and it was freaking cold as heck this morning. Wind chills around -10 to 5 degrees. It's about 22F right now. I had to check if I was wearing pants cause I sure felt the cold wind on my legs. Winter has definitely arrived! Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

:-)

I used to live by the Damen stop, and yeah, it's soooo much better to live by a subway stop! :-)

Nice title, too -- my favorite winter/holiday/etc. song. :-)

Happy Holidays!
