Starbucks Needs to Get On This!

Coffee

I’ve started getting the Chicago Tribune on Sundays and have secretly become an obsessive coupon clipper. There’s something oddly satisfying about cutting them out and thinking “FREE MONEY!” even if you wind up never using them. Anwyay, one coupon that I did use this morning was for free coffee or cappuccino at White Hen. So, score on that.. but what I liked even better was this nifty gadget on the White Hen coffee covers that help you avoid spills. So cool.

So that’s what they look like! My boss was talking about them at lunch the other day, but I hadn’t yet seen one. I can’t tell you how many times the stupid Starbucks lids allow coffee to splatter all over clothing when hitting one of the city’s lovely pot holes on the way to work.

Dunkin’ Donuts also has a very nifty new lid that does not allow spills…and their hot chocolate is much better (and much cheaper) than Starbucks!! (sorry, I don’t drink coffee)

Maybe Solo has a patent on their design.

Oh man, Starbucks is so far behind on this one. I can’t count the number of times that my damn coffee has splashed out of the damn hole in the damn cup and gotten on my damn clothes while I was on my damn way to my damn job. Whew.

Can you tell I get irritated by that. Someone needs to make Starbucks aware of how in the dark they are with their antiquated lids. ;-)
