I took.. uh.. a few photos of people passing by this bike rack. More than I’d like to admit!

WOW, why are the people invisible? Like a haze or smokey outline yet the bike racks are vivid? WEIRD

The bike racks were in the same place during the whole exposure. The people moved so you get part people, part other background. If you have the right equipment and take a long enough exposure the people will virtually disappear.

Very cool! How did you do it?

    cool shots.
I love those where the people, moving, are ghosted – especially with a little flash to give them form.
I’d like to see some more of these, not by a bike rack but by something significant – a statue? a sign? a bridge? What IS nice about these is how big the people are – they take up almost top to bottom. You could lose them if they were too small in the frame. I’ve done lots of these at Grand Central Station where the lighting is low and long exposures are needed.
Did you have your camera on a tripod? or balanced on something?

Sort of reminds me of this: http://www.satanslaundromat.com/sl/archives/000325.html

I love the eerie green glow.
