Forgive me if posts like these, where I’m shooting random things on walks, get repetitive or boring. Many times when I’m feeling too lazy to get off the couch I motivate myself by walking in new neighborhoods or on streets I don’t know, and by taking photographs of new things I see. So, it may be boring but it’s preventing my obesity!

The photos are one of the main reasons I come to your site. The photos make me look at the city in a different way.

Shell & Tien, I think you’re wrong ! Way off! If anyone else is like me, we’re “LIVING” there through the photos ! And they are remarkable and the history and on and on. I love them and feel a lot better about where our daughter is through her NYC photos and no the Chi photos. Keep them coming ! I DO appreciate and enjoy them so.

ma bowden, i’m not saying that rachelle (or me on my site) are going to stop taking them. i just think that photos are something that people don’t tend to comment as much on when visiting our sites.

On Wisconsin!
Appropo of what? Not these photos but the Badgers are on a roll and seeing that on TV makes me think of Rachelleb.com.
Your pics of everyday scenes out and about Chi-town are great Rachelle. More el and subways pics would be great; but then I’m a rail buff.

Those sculptures look like they’re made of fiberglass. Wouldn’t you like one in your place? Not that I’m suggesting anything, but they probably aren’t too heavy…

Thanks Tien. I too didn’t mean anything more than I really do love and appreciate all of both of your photography. People or the sites or the streets. They’re are my lifeline.

Rachelle, please keep taking them…whatever your motivation. I agree that they are always interesting and most are memorable. Your pics are one of the main reasons that I link to you on my little blog.

Ornate Window
Ornate Window, West Town, Chicago Two more from my walk. These types of ornate windows are very common in Chicago and particularly in the Bucktown/Wicker Park/Ukranian Village/East Village/West Town neighborhoods. I’m not sure what they’re called or I…

I love your walk pictues, Rachelle, although I wish you were still walking in NYC. keep them coming, and as said before - keep that motivation up. What you do here is amazing. Your work is appreciated and you have a talent for this. Do I hear Cofee Table Book coming? haha

Rachel,
I surfed on to your site by happy accident. I lived in Ukieville for a good chunk of the 90’s (NW corner of Huron & Leavitt, 2675 W. Grand, 2111 W. Augusta, briefly on the 1700 block of Huron, 1001 N. Hoyne, and 2030 W. Huron.) The images are all so familiar and well captured. You have a good eye for the local details. The second shot, at the corner of Superior and Paulina, was a church (obviously) which was converted to condos in the late 90’s.
