East Ukranian Village, also known as East Village, is bound by Ashland Avenue to the east, Chicago Avenue to the south, Damen Avenue to the west and Division Street to the north. I walked this boundry clockwise starting with Ashland. These are the photos I took on the first leg of the walk. They show that this part of the East Village is mostly Hispanic with a sprinkling of Eastern European thrown in and just a tiny bit of American shops starting to make an appearance.
pizza metro is so good. did you eat there?
i didnt eat there on saturday, but i’ve eaten there several other times.
I wish u had taken a full pic of the graffiti…Its one of the better ones i ve seen i chi..Plus can u post the address??
I’m not sure its exact address. It’s on Ashland between Division & Chicago.
i believe that graffiti piece is located on the corner of cortez and ashland. there’s plenty more great examples of excellent graffiti in the area, as many walls have been commissioned or sold to local artists as mural space.
Who are you…..Deitch was founded by mr. Phillips …am I wrong??? 1912…
