I recently found these photos I took of strange flowers that Jeannette, Tien & I came across when we were walking in the Loop in late June. Does anyone know what they are? I remember they felt like fur.

i’m pretty positive that is not soldier field. because soldier field is by the museum campus.. and we were somewhere in the south loop. we walked down the taste of chicago by grant park and then started walking west. i remember we passed a horse statue and some sort of college and the public library. i’m not sure what street we were on.

It looks like one of the Northwind Phoenix cooling buildings, probably the one at Van Buren and Franklin. They’re ice based cooling systems that pump cold air to large buildings in the loop. I think there are three of them in the loop. There’s another somewhere on State but it blends in better.
