Anish Kapoor didn’t reveal the name of his sculpture in Millennium Park until the very last panel was in place and the sculpture was fully assembled. As the sculpture was being built Chicagoans started calling it “The Bean” and the name stuck even after Kapoor announced its name to be “Cloud Gate“.

I can’t believe how shiny the bean is.
I like that photo of Stephanie crawling under the sculpture - at first when I was scrolling down the page, I only saw her reflection and thought she was Spider-Woman or something! Millennium Park looks like a fun place to visit.

yeh, it’s shiny.. but get this.. on the millennium park site it says that the sculpture will be covered on September 13 for approximately two months while polishing is completed.

So after they are done polishing it will it be shinier than it is now? is it even possible to get more shiny?

No, I read that they’re gonna polish it so that the seams are nearly invisible.

oh! the seams aren’t too bad, but if they were even less noticeable that would be awesome.

The Slutty Bean
The Cloud Gate sculpture has finally started her striptease. As you probably know, she put some clothes on in January so that workers could polish and grind her sexy bod. News reports said she’d planned on exposing about 20 percent of herself on Friday…
