Crown Fountain features two 50-foot high glass block towers at each end of a shallow reflecting pool. The towers display video images and water cascades from the top of each. This could be a serene scene, but in reality it’s the most populated and active area of Millennium Park. The video images feature Chicagoans smiling, sticking their tongues out and even spitting water, much to the delight of the children below. Not sure if this is what Spanish sculptor Juame Plensa had in mind, but it sure is popular. And refreshing on a hot day like yesterday.

Sweet sculpture! I guess we’re all set if, some day, aliens take over the planet and are in need of a way to broadcast their orders to us slaves.

    All hail Kang and Kodos!
