  1. yepper, I was raised sayin’ “pop”….. and… bubbler, and you guys, and ain’t, and supper, and …………………………….

  2. I never realized that people back east (back east?) use the word soda for pop. Threw me for a loop at first but I always laugh now when I hear someone ask for a soda.

  3. Dinner is the meal you eat at around 1pm. It’s the main meal of the day, and you usually take a little nap after dinner and then go back to work.

Supper is a light snack eaten around 7-8pm that is just to tide you over until the next morning, when you get up to the rooster’s crow and get ready to milk the cows.

Supper != Dinner (for those of you who know C++ syntax)

  4. Is lupper the meal you have at 6 PM – between dinner and supper? Sorta like brunch. And what about elevensies? And afternoon tea? I wonder how long the work day would be if we instituted all of these meal breaks? 🙂

In Milwaukee, I seem to see “soda” more often than “pop”. Even though I grew up saying “pop”.

  5. Here in Milwaukee, we say soda. That is also what they said when we were in DC last week. Kind of made us feel at home.

  6. Pingback: Slice

  7. We never said soda or pop in Arizona. We would give the name…like 7up…or Pepsi. And when in Telluride Colorado…you never said Coke…or you would get the powder! So to this day…I say..a coke-a-cola please.
