Right Now

May 28th, 2004 · 3 Comments

Tumble outta bed and stumble to the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition
Yawnin’, stretchin’, try to come to life
Jump in the shower and the blood starts pumpin’
Out on the streets the traffic starts jumpin’
And folks like me on the job from 9 to 5

Workin’ 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin’
Barely gettin’ by, it’s all takin’ and no givin’
They just use your mind and they never give you credit
It’s enough to drive you crazy if you let it

Except my schedule is more like get up at 6:30 work on some things, go to work from like 9 to whenever I can’t take it anymore, and then go home and work on other things until about 11pm.

I’ve been having headaches for the past week and I don’t know if they’re from this schedule or from my new headphones.

ChicagoistIf you haven’t already figured it out from Tien & Will’s comments, by teaming up with our friends at Gothamist, Jen Chung and Jake Dobkin, Margaret Lyons and I launched a new site called Chicagoist. The site is about Chicago and everything that happens it in – news and events, restaurants and bars, happenings and goings-on. Check it out! And we are interested in more contributors, so if you live in Chicagoland so if you love finding out what’s going on in Chicago and telling others about it, let me know!

Nancy, her stepmom, mom and mother-inlaw

Saturday I went up to Wisconsin for the day. Nancy and Josh are adopting and we knew it could be any day that they get the news that a baby is available for them, so in preparation Nancy’s family threw a shower for her. The big surprise was that just last Tuesday they were told that a baby girl in Guatemala is theirs. It will be a few months before they can go down and get her but this is such great news. Nancy and Josh have wanted children for so long and have tried so hard to have their own… I’m so happy they will finally have a baby, and one that is in desperate need of a good home. I can’t wait to meet Riley!
