These are the flowers that have bloomed so far in my flowerbed. Can anyone identify what type they are now that we can see the flowers? Whoever planted these bulbs must have liked purple. I think there are some tulips on the other end of the flowerbed (not in these photos) but they haven’t bloomed yet.

    They look distinctly like a flower called ‘blue bells’ over here in the U.K. - Not sure of the latin name?

    Checking Whiteflower Farms’s Fall catalogue I found Scilla, Bluebelle or squill that seemed to fit this description - Tom called them Blue bells - probably the same flower…. check out:

    I think they’re Hyacinth that need tlc and plant food !

    One of the researchers (the one with the most gardening knowledge) in our fact-checking dept. here at work said it was either a Nerine Lily (Nerine bowdenii, how ’bout that?!) or an Agapanthus.
