Stuffed Peppers
Because I’m new in Chicago and don’t know a ton of people here and because the weather hasn’t been very great for exploring (snow, cold, rain, dark by the time I get out of work) and because my kitchen in my apartment is bigger than any kitchen I’ve had since 1999, I have been trying out a lot of new recipes and cooking a lot lately. If you post here or email me your favorite recipe for dinner or dessert or really anything and I find it appealling I will more than likely make it and report back here. I look forward to seeing what you send!
BTW, the peppers were good but they didn’t rock my world. Here is the recipe. Oh, and don’t worry.. I have a plans for this weekend and next week so I won’t be home cooking by myself all the time ![]()

I don’t have a specific recipe idea, but being a cookbook junkie, i’ll tell you that one of the best cookbooks I ever purchased was 30 Minute Meals (1 & 2) by Rachael Ray - she’s a little annoying to watch on Food Network, but all of the recipes i’ve tried have been wonderful, and really do take only 30 minutes.

Those peppers look good, but neither Amanda nor Steph like peppers. They are both kind of picky eaters.

They would probably like the inside parts.. it’s just browned hamburger with onion and garlic and some seasonings.

i don’t like peppers either. and whenever they are cooked, they always give off a flavor.
but they look nice.

um.. ya, they dont like onions either. and even if they didn’t eat the peppers, the flavor would still be in the filling, right?

ahh - “Foods That Make Your Breath Smell Like Ass” night. good times, good times ;). you have to remember, i probably put in a bit more than the recommended amount of garlic in the salad. i like it REALLY garlicky. and you should grate in on a micro-planer to get maximum stankiness.

those look yummy… definitely going to check that recipe out.
Rachelle I thought you didn’t like peppers.. we could never get them on the pizza? or was that because of Tien?
I have one of the cookbooks Dy was referring to.. it is great! You should get one of her books. I think there is a desert one too!

a lot of the recipes i have on my site are for four, but almost all are tried and true. one of the easiest recipes there, though, is the ricotta tart. soooo good yet so easy. also, near east has a bunch of couscous recipes that are usually really easy and fast.
