




On the morning of the move I got up at about 6 a.m. so we could be to the UHaul rental center in Chelsea by 7:30 and get a truck. I decided to go as early as I could in hopes that that would guarantee that nothing would get screwed up. Jess picked me up in a cab on the corner of my street, Bedford, and 6th Avenue. New York City is such a different place when you’re up and about at that early of an hour. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping.. and it’s so quiet. Or maybe I was being overly sentimental because it was my last day in The City.

All I can say is thanks for this post - a great diary of the move. I’ll miss your New York posts but look forward to seeing Chicago and more. Best wishes in your new digs.
