Avoid This Man at All Costs

Bad Waiter at Sosa Borella
Bad Waiter at Sosa Borella, Tribeca, Manhattan

If you see this man be scared. If he is at Sosa Borella and carrying a tray full of iced water, be scared and run for your life. Today he spilled the entire tray on my white shirt. Accident?

- Still, Sosa Borella makes the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had.

And a few people I was with said they saw Michael Ian Black sitting at a table as we left, but I guess I was too busy bundling up and bracing myself for the arctic gusts of air against my wet pants and shirt to notice.

ooh, that’s not good. i guess he just wanted to see the goods.

  • callalillie

i hope that you got your lunch for free.

  • rachelle

i got the lunch for free because it was an expensed business lunch, not because the waiter spilled the water on me. i’m still wet & cold, btw.

  • Jen

The bastard doesn’t even look sorry.

I almost spilled my water and soda at a diner on purpose because I thought the waiter was being a jerk. I didn’t because I’m too nice; I just left a crappy tip, making him think I’m cheap (apparently I was supposed to tell him he was a bad waiter).

  • Kelly

Maybe he was flirting with you!

  • Ed Espinoza

He had ulterior motives. Didn’t you see Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo? Ok, bad example but there is a similar reference to this topic in the movie. You’ll know it when you see it. :P

  • KRZYSIEK

maybe he thought you`re too HOT to be IN HERRE

  • rachelleb

    hahhahhhah. omg.

i’ve never seen deuce bigalow male gigolo.. guess i’ll have to to get the joke

  • jeannette

omg, krzysiek!! you totally made me laugh out loud. hehe.

yeah – when i get bad service, i try to speak up. otherwise, management doesn’t notice, you don’t get a free lunch, and the waiter doesn’t realize he/she sucks and that you’re not just being cheap.

  • tien

i think jeannette is the queen of speaking up. that’s what got us a trip to tour jacques torres.

Duece Bigalow – most underrated comedy in YEARS! that is without a doubt Rob Schneider’s best work. (so he’s not that great to begin with – so what!)

seriously – watch that movie rachelle. I laughed out loud more watching that movie than I have in anything I’ve seen since then.

  • Richard

I thought Duece Bigalow was terrible, but did you know they were making a sequal?

For underrated comedies, see Office Space.

  • CJ

    “Mmmkay?….that would be great..”

I agree Office Space, is hilarious. I’d watch that before DB anyday. I just have never been a Rob Scheider fan, he burned me out with that whole “making copies” skit.

That guy is the busboy and he is a disaster! But he comes to work everyday and he is trying so hard. He is like Robert Bengnini in the movie” Johnny Stecchino”. He cracks us up unintentionally. Sorry for the spilt water. Say hi to me next time you come in

  • rachelleb

i would, but ive moved to chicago now. the worst part was that as i sat there soaking wet through the entire lunch, the fact that water was spilled on me wasn’t acknowledged by the wait staff at all. a comp lunch or dessert, or at least an apology would have been nice. dont, get me wrong, i love sosa & their grilled cheese, but come on! :)
