Law & Order Location Scouting

Thursday night when I came home from work I found this posted outside our apartment building door and there were a bunch more laying inside our door. It’s signed by the Law & Order Location Scout. Full text of the letter:

Dear Resident:

Universal Network Television is producing its fourteenth season of the NBC Emmy Award winning television show Law & Order. The program airs on Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. and stars Sam Waterston, Jerry Orbach, Jesse L. Martin, S. Epatha Merkerson, Fred Thompson and Elisabeth Rohm.

- We are currently looking for an apartment to film a scene for an upcoming episode.

- Filming will take place on one weekday only. One additional day of prep and/or wrap may be necessary depending on the scene.

- Of course, we offer a location fee and issue a certificate of insurance along with a location agreement.

If you are interested, please call me directly at 646-296-0461 as I am available to answer any questions you may have. You can also reach me through the Locations Department at (212) 627-0088, Ext 2.

Since we are on a very thight schedule, I would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Sarah Westcott
Location Scout

    Rachelle,

Totally do it! You’ve got to! Just remember to invite Jen and me, too. I’ll bring the popcorn and fake blood!

I would be camping in the West Village but it’s too cold. Maybe when the freeze snaps.

Also, Vincent D’Onofrio stopped by my friend’s work on Friday - he was wearing his L&O: Criminal Intent clothes.

Wow, Rachelle. That’d be an ultimate ! Did you call the # ? Keep us posted !

  • 11 ChrisM // Jan 12, 2004 at 7:44 am

Speaking of Fred Thompson, I saw him channel surfing last night in “Days Of Thunder”. Did you ever see that Rachelle? Tom Cruise’s biggest bomb save “Eyes Wide Shut”.

    Far and Away anyone? Legend?

  • 13 tien // Jan 12, 2004 at 9:19 am

i didn’t think days of thunder was that bad. i mean, there was nascar action, not that that’s necessarily a good thing.

  • 14 Nan // Jan 12, 2004 at 9:30 am

do you think they could fit the cast in your apartment? and then all their cameras, lights, etc as well? ;-)

  • 15 rachelle // Jan 12, 2004 at 10:40 am

i dont think they’d be able to fit a crew in my apt let alone cast members and equipment. I wonder if they’d seen any of the apts in my building before that put that sign up. plus i dont think my roommate would be into it..

i liked days of thunder.. of course i was young and impressionable… and hardee’s was running a promotion for the movie when it came out.. and i liked hardee’s.. they were giving away free cups, i think .. and i thought tom cruise was dreamy.. so i totally fell for it and swore i’d name my first born “cole”

a propos de bottes…i`m half-veggie so i don`t like KIELBASA, but is it popular in the states? it`s also a polish special :)

  • 17 KRZYSIEK // Jan 12, 2004 at 11:00 am

damn! i posted it in wrong place :) oops!

  • 18 rachelle // Jan 12, 2004 at 11:03 am

that’s ok . kielbasa is welcome everywhere! actually, kielbasa, and all of the german/polish sausages were more popular where i grew up than here, i think. lots of germans & poles in the midwest.

  • 19 KRZYSIEK // Jan 12, 2004 at 11:16 am

in chicago, there are more poles than in most polish cities. unfortunately :)

  • 20 Anthony // Jan 13, 2004 at 3:05 pm

Rachelle is a kielbasa for not inviting Law and Order into her apartment!

  • 21 rachelle // Jan 13, 2004 at 4:19 pm

Law &amp Order In Your Home…Literally

If only Law &amp Order was looking for an apartment that doubles as unofficial Jerry Orbach fan club, NY chapter: rachelle reported the best police procedural on TV was looking for apartments in the West Village. She took this photograph of the letter …

Checking up on this. My mom’s friend just got a similar letter, from the same Sarah Westcott. We’re just trying to see if it’s for real, or some hoax. If you could e-mail me back and let me know how it turned out with your building, I’d appreciate it.
