the quaker squares box is on the counter behind me.. and yes, we did add them to the chex mix. we also had rice chex, corn chex, multi-grain chex, pretzels, golden grahams, cashews, and mixed nuts.

I’d go with possessed by an undead spirit intent on mixing ill-matched snacks in a large aluminum pan.
Check that, add very cute to the undead spirit description and it’s much more accurate.

That photo makes me SOOOO hungry for some chex mix. Although, it looks like I’d need to invite a good 10 friends over to help me finish it off if I made a tin that big of the stuff!
23 rachelleb // Dec 11, 2003 at 7:50 am
evil robots crave chex mix!? heh
we made 2 tins that big on the first day of thanksgiving vacation (wednesday). there were 3 people in the house and by sunday we’d polished off a good portion of it!!! i was still able to take a small tin of it home though.. yumyum.
chex mix always reminds me of my southwest road trip with kelly when we made tons and tons of it and always had it in the car with us.. we ate it for some of our meals even. (more than i’d like to admit). i didnt think i’d ever be able to eat chex mix again, but here i am! booyah!

But what is your recipe? For the sauce, I mean.
27 rachelleb // Dec 12, 2003 at 4:26 pm
my aunt has been making chex mix for years so im not exactly sure what goes into it. i think it’s basically the sauce recipe off the box plus whatever embelishment she feels like adding.

You just look like you loves you some mix…that’s all. Gotta have the melba toast. It ain’t worth a damn without the melba toast!.. Melba toast is the crown jewel of the mix! In the pic you are offering us all a lovin spoonful of the mix…please make sure my spoonful has melba toast in it. Thanks. You’re swell!
