You look like you’ve got the munchies. What have you been doing, you hippie pot smoker?

  • Richard

it does kind of look like you made ‘special’ chex mix.

  • rachelleb

Aunt Sue made the special sauce!!! I just did the stirring.

  • Richard

You added Quaker Squares? Yum! they are the best.

  • jeannette

quaker squares? i don’t see those?

yeah – you look scary in that photo. like you’re demon spawn or something. eek!

how was the chex mix? yummmm….

  • rachelleb

the quaker squares box is on the counter behind me.. and yes, we did add them to the chex mix. we also had rice chex, corn chex, multi-grain chex, pretzels, golden grahams, cashews, and mixed nuts.

I’d go with possessed by an undead spirit intent on mixing ill-matched snacks in a large aluminum pan.

Check that, add very cute to the undead spirit description and it’s much more accurate.

  • rachelleb

oh. we also had melba toasts in there.

  • rachelleb

oh. and a bunch of pecans i had leftover from when i made pecan pie the weekend before.

  • dad bowdenb

It looks like you are demonically eating the chex mix with a demon-sized spoon.

  • Mike

  • Evil Robot

That photo makes me SOOOO hungry for some chex mix. Although, it looks like I’d need to invite a good 10 friends over to help me finish it off if I made a tin that big of the stuff!

  • rachelleb

evil robots crave chex mix!? heh

we made 2 tins that big on the first day of thanksgiving vacation (wednesday). there were 3 people in the house and by sunday we’d polished off a good portion of it!!! i was still able to take a small tin of it home though.. yumyum.

chex mix always reminds me of my southwest road trip with kelly when we made tons and tons of it and always had it in the car with us.. we ate it for some of our meals even. (more than i’d like to admit). i didnt think i’d ever be able to eat chex mix again, but here i am! booyah!

  • Jeff

    I picture a homer simpson moment…mmmm…chex mix

  • Mike

Looks like an ad for a Chex commercial. Tag Line:
    “Rachelle loves her Chex Mix!”

  • jenn

But what is your recipe? For the sauce, I mean.

  • rachelleb

my aunt has been making chex mix for years so im not exactly sure what goes into it. i think it’s basically the sauce recipe off the box plus whatever embelishment she feels like adding.

  • ashley

In the pic you are offering us all a lovin spoonful of the mix…please make sure my spoonful has melba toast in it. Thanks. You’re swell!
