Shear Madness at the Kennedy Center

December 1st, 2003 · 9 Comments

After visiting the United States Holocaust Museum Memorial, we had Spanish tapas at Jaleo. Really great food & sangria (we tried both the red & the white). After dinner we went to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to see a play called Shear Madness. It’s a comedic murder mystery set in a hair styling salon that has the audience participating in the outcome.

You know, it almost looks like they made the head out of milk chocolate.

And is it just me or is there something ironic about having a show that is about a murder mystery being performed in an arts center named for a man who was the victim in one of the greatest murder mysteries of all time?

I always thought it looked like they made JFK’s head out of chopped liver. I saw that on a sitcom once, where they honored someone by making a chopped liver bust of his head. When I lived in DC, if I ever had to meet someone at the Kennedy Center, I told them to look for the chopped liver head.

ew! i don’t think i’ve ever seen chopped liver for real. i’m just going to go back to thinking about it as chocolate!
